Request for Music

Anyone have any good music suggestions for me? I’ve been trying to explore the Indie scene a bit more. I like most songs from the Garden State Soundtrack.

Suggest anything! Thanks.

I am not an authority on music nor Indie Rock but here are a few bands I have listened to that I have liked: My Morning Jacket, Death Cab for Cutie, Decemberists, Sonic Youth, The White Stripes, Mirah, Calexico, and Belle & Sebastian.

    Congratulations on your graduation!!

Duane you ever listen to Tom Waits? Not that he’s indie, but check it out if you haven’t…rain dogs and bone machine are probably his best cd’s (IMO). And no, it’s not hard music.

I’ve been listening to alot of the Pixies lately, as well as the Butthole Surfers. But that’s all late 80s indie. New indie stuff…hrmmm… I’m kinda out of touch there.

Hey Duane..! Have you tried these? Pretty neat tools that help you find new music based on what you already like:

Yeah I will echo Kasia about pandora.com. That thing rocks!

Been listening to Massive Attack lately. Not sure they qualify as indie but they are still good…

Last month it was Regina Specktor, Joe Purdy and Ryan Adams. This month.. it’s country?? I don’t know what happened - the songs are just so sweet! :)
