Heroes
Last night, out of sheer boredom, I drove down to Future Shop and picked up Season one of Heroes, on HD-DVD.
Rebecca and John have been recommending this series to me, so I figured I would just go along with their word of mouth and pick it up.
I'm about half way through season one already, and so far I think it's pretty good. A few of the characters I find a bit annoying, but the Tokyo guy who can bend space and time is always entertaining, as well as the guy who can read minds. I'm anxiously awaiting the ... read more

An Update From The Couch
Well, it's been a few days since I've given an update, so I figure it's about time. My fever broke a few days ago and for the most part I feel pretty decent. I'm still a bit spacey from time to time, and I still can't really concentrate very well. I generally have a few hours at a time where I can do things, then I somehow end up in bed sleeping for a few hours. Yesterday I had a four hour nap around lunch time, and then still managed to sleep 12 hours last night, ... read more

eBay: turning shit into solid gold
Considering that my 70-200mm f/2.8L is completely hosed, and there's absolutely nothing I can do with it, I figured I would just toss it on eBay and see if I could get like $50 from some guy that wanted to play with it or something. So, you can imagine my surprise when, after getting out of the hospital and checking my eBay page, I noticed that the sucker had sold for $260.
I was completely clear in the description that the item doesn't work, and that it would require major repair. But still, I'm completely ... read more

Back From The Dead
Last night I was released from St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver to continue the healing process at home. I won't make this a long entry becuase frankly, I find it physically rather hard to type and concentate for writing emails and things right now.
The whole episode that led me to head to the hospital is as follows. On Saturday night I was finding myself really short of breath at home. Plus, no matter what medication I took, I just couldn't seem to get my fever to come down. I hit a point ... read more

Good Vibes For Duane
Hi Duaniacs, Rebecca here. I seriously hope I don't mess anything up but I just remembered that Duane gave me a login for his site a while back when I did a guest post. Since it's been two days I thought I would keep the Duane blog alive and give everyone an update.
Like Hesty said in a comment on the previous post, Duane has been admitted to St. Paul's Hospital with pneumonia. Our contact with him has been limited and unfortunately my cell phone likes to send multiple instances of the same message which must be getting annoying for ... read more

The Plot Thickens
Friday morning, I woke up with a rather large fever, and spent the first hour or two hugging a toilet. I was feeling pretty defeated, so I called my mom out in Chilliwack and asked her to come out and spend the night with me.
It's been really great. They made me a meal, looking after me, did my laundry, and tried to do what they could to make me feel better. I went to bed, and actually had a pretty decent sleep. Unfortunately, I had a really large fever upon waking up today, ... read more

Sick At Home
The other day I had a nap after work, and woke up with achy joints and wicked headache. Since then, things have only gotten worse. I tried to go into work on Wednesday but had a really bad case of the chills, so bad that I was having trouble typing since my hands were shaking so much. I left work part way through the day and slept basically from around 1pm until midnight. At that point I woke up with a major fever, and think I was pretty delirious since I was having some weird argument ... read more

Not Doing So Well
After work, I was feeling a bit tired so I laid down for a quick nap. When I woke up a few hours later, not only did I have a wicked headache, most of my joints hurt too. I've since turned the heat up in my apartment to around 28C, and I'm still shivering on the couch with some blankets on.
The next couple days are pretty busy for me, so I can't really afford to be sick. I'm going to head to bed now and hopefully wake up at a reasonable hour. My ... read more

Weddings, Photography and Matthew Good
This week is a fairly busy week for me. I am photographing a few friends to get some practice (I think Kasia is up later today), and hopefully one or two aspiring models at the end of this week. I also have to go buy a new 70-200mm f/2.8L lens sometime and get my suit dry-cleaned for a wedding I have to go to this weekend. Unfortunately, I'm dateless for this upcoming wedding, which kind of sucks considering I'll undoubtedly be sitting at a table full of couples. Oh well.
Also, ... read more
