Tomorrow I’m going to start the process of packing for my trip to Ottawa, followed by a short stay in Toronto. Jason and Derek will be meeting up with me at various times in Ottawa, so I’ll definitely have some company. The hotel we’re staying in is supposed to be really nice, so I’m looking forward to getting some good sleeps while I’m out there, and maybe doing a few laps in the pool from time to time.
Next Friday, I’ll hop on a plane in the morning and hit Toronto, ultimately ending up at the Westin Harbour Center hotel right on lake Ontario (about a 10 minute walk from Massey Hall). On Friday night there is a pre-concert meet up with a bunch of people from Matt’s blog, including Dale, Tony, Raymi, Patrick, and a host of others.
I have the whole afternoon to kill on that Friday, so I might see what I can do about getting a copy of Leopard at the Apple store. Rumour has it that it doesn’t come up until 6pm (which is an overplayed hype mechanism Apple continues to exploit), so that would ruin that option for me. I think Dale, his girlfriend and I might go grab a few beers in the afternoon, and then hit the pre-concert gathering, but I’m really not sure yet. Tony doesn’t get in until nearly show time, so he’ll miss the pre-show drinks probably. Afterwards is of course Matt’s concert in Massey Hall, which should be really cool.
Saturday night is the Toronto Blogstock, and I think the current plan is to go karaoke somewhere with the group. I’ll be able to bring my SLR out to that, so hopefully I’ll bring back some fun photos for everyone to see.
That’s it sports fans. If I don’t check back in before Sunday, then I’m in Ottawa somewhere.
On another note — if you were to take two pieces of bread, cut out circular holes in each one, and fry an egg in the center of each - what would the name of that dish be (I’ve intentionally removed the hyper link from the photo so nobody cheats, but I’ll put it back in a few days)? There’s an ongoing debate, so I want to see what everyone thinks.

Egg in a basket?
Toad In A Hole!
I want to call it “goog-ily bread” even though I know what Boris called it
I agree I think it is egg in a basket!
Egg in the hole!
See http://bmannconsulting.com/blog/bmann/congrats-john-and-igor-handimobility-livevote-launched — you can even VOTE on this with your cell phone.
@keira-anne — so totally not toad in the hole….
I texted it this morning by my vote never showed up. I’m also gonna reiterate that I think SMSing things is asking for trouble — I get SMS spam about once every 3 or 4 days already, and I keep my number pretty private. Once I start pinging things with SMS. who knows what will happen. But we’ll see.
It’s called “Pigs in a blanket”…used to eat it as a kid!
Aren’t pigs in a blanket sausages wrapped in pancakes? Anyway, that bread thing — I always thought it was toad in a hole even though I’ve ever eaten one. Not quite sure why it’s called that…BWAHAHAA
OMG, it’s so NOT pigs in a blanket. That’s a sausage wrapped in a pancake.
I’m with Julia on this one. This is “egg-in-the-hole,” which actually originated in Quebec.
It’s great.
But it’s not as as good as the world’s best breakfast — the Newfoundland Mug Up.
@Boris Mann
It’s okay to think that, Boris. Everyone’s entitled to my opinion.
Thats just what my frinds mom called it….the sausage thing appears to make a little more sense:)
I agree with Tanya & John and Wikipedia…

Let’s see a photo of “pigs in a blanket” next….
I texted to vote last night. I was thinking it was …something… basket… so the option of just “basket” was AWESOME :-P
