My parents were both pretty concerned about me in the last couple of days, so I sort of told them I’d take it easy for a little while. So tonight, instead of going out or doing anything stupid, I decided to just stay home and play around on the computer. To keep myself busy, I thought I’d take a stab at updating my blog. I finally got photoshop working, so I was able to create a new header image. It was three layers, one which was my HDR backdrop, one which was an artistic modification of it, and the last one was of course a photo of me.

I also removed a pile of plugins, some of which I sort of still like using but that I feel really slow my site down. So, hopefully it should be a lot peppier around here going forward. With Wordpress 2.3 and greater, there is the added feature of real tags in Wordpress. And while I think Wordpress botched the transition between the two (because really, it’s not really a transition under the hood), it seems workable with a bit of effort. Which means I can finally ditch Ultimate Tag Warrior.

It’s been a busy week for blog updates, and we still have to play with Rebecca’s blog soon. Thanks to Dale for giving me a few suggestions, and to Kris for letting me steal the image he took of me during the gastown photo walk.
