That is so sad. I watched a program about global warning and specifically the effects it was having on polar bears. They showed this one fella who was swimming and swimming to find a some ice to stand on, while he searched for food.
They filmed him swimming up to 60km, no ice or safe spot in site. He got so tired, he stopped swimming and slipped under the water. I bawled. I know it is nature and they (film crew)can’t interfere, but all I was hoping was that they would send a net down from their helicopter to rescue him and plunk him on a huge chunk of ice.
I really have no appropriate response to that… it’s just appalling and heartbreaking. There’s another polar bear shot on the site you linked to that’s possibly even sadder. Our world will soon be unrecognizable.

Wow! I would be interested to see how George Bush, John McCain and Sarah Palin talk themselves out of solid evidence like this…

Can’t interfere? Jesus, what is it they think we’ve been doing all these years?
