Facebook S'Macebook

Last modified on November 27th, 2007

Is it just me, or is facebook getting a little old these days? Except for the event planning thing, which I think is fairly useful, there’s not really a lot about it that I really think is that great anymore. And to be honest, I’m getting a little tired of saying ignore to things like the funwall, or turkey tossing and what have you. I know people are just having a little fun with it, but I’m just not that interested in alot of those things everyone is inviting each other with. It’s not really a big deal, as I don’t get enough of them to where it takes a lot of time out of my day, I just don’t really get the appeal is all I guess.

It would be nice if facebook kept track of which apps you’ve said no to, and would automatically pull you out of invitation lists based on your past history. If I’ve said no to funwall once, chances are I don’t really want it.

Yeah it’s pretty much just my event planner/daytimer at this point and even the Upcoming.org application keeps bugging out on me 🙁

I’m totally bored of it, too. I think it might be time to make some sort of dramatic break from it. 🙂

I just block those pesky applications I don’t want..then I don’t have to deal with those requests ever again!!

I am pretty sick of facebook especially after I got hacked into last weekend…

  5. I agree that there are some applications that have some use (organising events, SOME groups, photo sharing) but a lot of it is indeed trash. I tend to find as a university student that when exam deadlines are looming or essays are to be handed in, facebook activity blooms with students who will do anything to put off doing their work. Likewise, when everyone goes away for the holidays, they have far too many worthy things to be doing and facebook sort of becomes… dead!
Still, I do enjoy getting completely wasted at the weekend and then waking up to some rather shameful images that friends have uploaded in the morning.

I have a love/hate relationship with “Facecrack”. I start off having a few applications, then more and more. On many occasions I have gone all out and cleared out most of it, just because it just gets to be way too much sometimes. I get to the point where I am just bored of it all and out it goes. Then a few days later I find I fall victim to them all over again. It is my social network though since I can’t be with my friends all the time. It has also helped me reconnect with many friends that had just faded away in my life though, and for that I am thankful.
