Fireworks and Friends

Last modified on July 26th, 2007

Tony Pierce is currently in town checking out some of the Canadian sights and trying his hand at drinking Canadian beer. Tonight Tony, Robyn, Rebecca, John, Keira, Adam and Corinna all came down to my place for some pre-fireworks drinking.

I wasn’t up to my typical drinking self, but I still managed to demolish 6 or 7 beers in fairly short order. I didn’t really eat any type of supper, so I’m a bit hungry now. On Friday some of us are going to meet up after work for a longer version of tonight, with hopefully a larger group.

It was a cool night though, and it is the first time since owning my digital SLR that I’ve actually attempted to take some photos of the fireworks. Some of us are gonna hopefully check out Saturday’s as well to see how they compared.

Great shot Duane…..I’m hoping to take my camera to the fireworks this time around. Been awhile since I’ve wanted to go to them after living downtown for a long time, you get used to them and take them for granted….or maybe it was the hellish crowds pissing in my alley all night afterwards 😉

Those are some great shots, what kind of camera are you shooting on?

I use a Canon EOS 20D mostly, and at the time I had the 17-40 f/4.0L lens on. I hand held all the fireworks shots, which surprsies even me that they turned out, considering most of them were 1s + exposure.
