So, as recently reported by Entertainment Tonight Canada, Matthew Good’s seventh full length album, Hospital Music, is slated to be released on July 31st. This album was recorded and mixed at the Warehouse Studios in Gastown, Vancouver during the months of January to March.

While I haven’t seen any of the footage myself or spent much time scouring the internet for any news of the release, I’ve heard through a few people that Entertainment Tonight people attempted to briefly explain Matt’s motivation for the music on his new album. And to that end, if anyone is curious about what the actual inspiration for the album was or wants to learn more from the man himself, I encourage them to check out the official Hospital Music page on Matthew’s website, where you’ll find information about upcoming live performances along with a detailed biography for the album itself.

This Thursday the first single for Hospital Music will hit the airwaves at 6:15pm, courtesy of CFOX (99.3 the Fox) here in Vancouver. The following information is listed on Matt’s website:

On Thursday, May 31st at 6:15pm (PST), Vancouver’s CFOX radio station will be premiering the first single from Hospital Music- ‘Born Losers’. Matt will also be playing acoustically and answering some questions. You can tune in if you live in the greater Vancouver area at 99.3 FM.

So make sure to jot it down so you don’t miss out. Shortly thereafter, Matthew will be allowing registered users of his website to listen to the single for a while online. So if you’re not already a member, head on over and sign up now.

Back in March, Matt was gracious enough to give me a sneak listen to the entire album down at the studio in Gastown, and to all the people who are waiting patiently for its full release on July 31st I will say this — it is well worth the wait.

Also, Matt has pages on several social networking sites, so if you’re into that you can check out Matthew Good’s Facebook Page or the Hospital Facilities Myspace Page. If you have Facebook, go grab the Hospital Music Facebook Application to keep up to date with the release, tour dates, information, etc.

For those of you who want to see a few more behind the scenes images from the recording process, here are a few additional shots by Dan Lilly (the first five) and Vancouver Fashion Photograher Kris Krug (the last six).
