Knock Out

Last modified on March 19th, 2008

I haven’t been sleeping well at all this week, and on Monday night only got about three hours of sleep. So last night I picked up some Sleep-Aid from the pharmacy on my way home from work. I was originally going to force myself to stay up until 11pm before hitting the sack, but actually passed out on the couch at around 7:30pm and woke up around 10:30pm. I did a bit of work on the computer until 11:30pm, then popped a Sleep Aid for the win.

I woke up at around 6:30am this morning feeling rather good actually. It’s nice to have a full sleep for a change.

This weekend is easter (I think), and I’m heading home to spend some time with the family. My nephew’s birthday is on Saturday, so I’m going to stroll by and hang out with him for a while. Sounds like most people at work are taking Monday off and making it a four day weekend, so I’ll probably fill out the paperwork today and do the same.

While I never seem to have a problem falling asleep (my wife tells me I’m normally asleep about 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow) my sleep always seems to be quite interrupted and I always get up in the morning feeling exhausted. Needless to say I don’t like it.

Ask your wife if she ever notices you snoring or having trouble breathing in your sleep. Sounds like you might have sleep apnea.

Glad to hear you’re having better nights’ sleep. I forced myself to go to sleep at around 2 am last night. Needless to say I woke up at 11 am this morning.

I’m going to ask a really odd question here, but my shifts are literally all over the place (6-4:30, 10:30-9, 8-6:30 and overnights which is 8:45pm-6:15am) so I never get a good night’s sleep anymore. When you took that sleep aid, did you wake up with and/or experience a metallic taste in your mouth at all during the day? I’m desperately trying to find a sleep aid that won’t do that, so I can have just one good night of rest!

    No, I didn’t taste anything.
