Ok Mac guys, please don’t kill me. But for you windows people, I’m trying to figure out who has the .NET framework installed on their machine. Using some javascript trickery I’ll populate this box below with information regarding whether or not you have .NET installed. If you’re on Windows, please visit this page using IE.
Can everyone please answer the poll answers after reading this post. Thanks.
For you Windows users, the box will have something like this in it:
“Windows, IE
.NET CLR 1.1.4322,.NET CLR 2.0.50727,.NET CLR 3.0.04506.30,.NET CLR 3.0.04506.648”
That means you are running Internet Explorer, and you have version 1, version 2 and version 3 of .NET installed. In that case, please add three entries for the poll at the bottom (you can pick more than one).
[poll id=”13″]
[poll id=”14″]
Windows, IE
.NET CLR 1.1.4322,.NET CLR 2.0.50727,.NET CLR 3.0.04506.30,.NET CLR 3.0.04506.648
It told me I don’t have .NET installed which is odd because I have the .NET Studio installed for some of the VB.NET applications I maintain here at work.
Running Vista 🙂
I’m running Vista, fully updated, and in Firefox 3 the Javascript trickery didn’t quite work for me.
– In FF3 it reports that I don’t have dotnet installed (I’m not running any script blockers in FF3)
– In IE7 it reports “.NET CLR 2.0.50727,.NET CLR 3.0.04506,.NET CLR 3.5.21022”
I use several dotnet programs running on my machine (for example Windows Live Writer), and in Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features, “Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5” is listed as one of the installed programs/modules.
Weird I thought I have .NET installed on this laptop but says I don’t have .NET installed. Running XP and Firefox 3.
Make sure you’re using IE when you view this post (I added a blurb up above). So if it didn’t show before, please revisit the page using IE.
XP with FF3 and IE8 Beta 2. I checked it in an IE tab inside Firefox, and it correctly informed me that I’m running .NET
I have two machines. It doesn’t seem to let me fill in the survey twice from behind the same NAT.
IE7 on XP reports: .NET CLR 1.1.4322,.NET CLR 2.0.50727
Yeah dude, seems like your survey only allows 1 vote per (public) IP address. Otherwise, I would’ve stuffed the ballot with bunch of Linux on N800s here 😉
It appears that this doesn’t work on IE8/Vista. Vista comes with versions of IE installed, but your survey reports “You do not have .NET installed”, and does not even report that IE8 is being used.
Make that version of .NET installed.
Need more coffee.
