The Joy Of Sleep

Last modified on October 29th, 2008

Lately I’ve actually been sleeping fairly well, given how much trouble I have routinely had in the past. I’ve been trying to keep a fairly consistent schedule these days, going to bed sometime around midnight, and trying to be up around 8am or so. There’s a period of time between about 7 and 8 in the morning that is pure bliss these days, where I just kind of fade in and out of sleep and stretch periodically. Now that it’s a bit colder, my heater is on slightly, so my room is nice and toasty at the point. Plus, it’s still a bit dark at that hour, which makes it easier to continue relaxing.

With that in mind, I’m not really looking forward to the upcoming time change this weekend. It’ll mean that my one hour of joy each morning there will be interrupted with sunshine, which will probably make it harder to continue sleeping. That being said, I’m still looking forward to being a lazy bum this weekend and sleeping in on both days. I have to take my car into the shop on Saturday to finally get my replacement stereo installed.

Don’t know whats worse, the waking from bliss or leaving the warm bed for the colder air.

  2. Get curtains for your bedroom since it faces east. Blot out the sun and keep your darkness.

I have this big curtain thing I affectionately call “the blast shield”. It doesn’t work that great though.

    Hotel grade black-out curtains.

    And I agree with Dawn.

Seems that sleep is a theme of sorts for the day. Had an awful time trying to sleep last night. :-p

But we get an extra hour! How can you not be looking forward to that?

i just wanted to comment about they otter..

They are my absolute favorites… I always wanted one and said someday if I won the lotto I would have one and they could live in my jungle- like grotto/ swimming pool.. We sit around in the summer and eat oysters and clams together…Just me and my otter…*lovely*:)

Happy you have been getting more zzz’s lately.. I have been sleeping off the hook lately too. Went to bed at 7:30pm last night & got up at 6am for work. Feels good!!

I agree with Eva. The hotel black out curtains do work and they are not that expensive to buy.

It’s nice to have a lazy bum weekend, helps to recharge the batteries of life. Enjoy.
