    Actually, most planes can land themselves now. However, it’s very helpful to have two people in the cockpit to check all the instruments, read through all the checklists, handle the radio chatter, etc. So, it’s not a matter of not being able to land the plane single-handed, rather it’s landing the plane safely with all available resources.

    Thanks for the information. I thought to autoland a plane the runway/airport needs to support cat 3c ILS system. Are they pretty common nowadays?
