Canon S90

Last modified on October 26th, 2009

Well, I’m pretty sure this is my next camera. Looks pretty amazing. It’s a small point and shoot Canon camera that has a 28-105mm lens and also goes down to f/2.0. Pretty awesome.

Nice stats for such a compact body.

Check out CHDK, an open source alternative firmware. They don’t have the S90 added yet but I’d download this as soon as they do. Gives you features such as RAW, HDR bracketing, time lapses, and more; some of them features my DSLR doesn’t have!

Sounds cool, but I think most of those features are in the S90 already.

  3. I was sad when the G series lost its excellent f/2.0 lens a few revisions back, and I like what Canon has done with the S90. I also think this new trend towards faster lenses and more manual control in compacts, prompted by the Panasonic LX2 and LX3, is a good one. I’d still prefer an optical viewfinder, but otherwise it looks to be a very nice unit.

The S90 looks sweet. I just ordered one from Amazon.

Wow that looks amazing! I can’t believe how small it is.

I’m definitely curious to see pictures when you get yours…

This does look like a pretty kick ass PnS….if it did HD movies, I’d be completely sold…but my next PnS has to have HD video…even if it’s only 720p.
