New Flickr Account

Last modified on March 25th, 2010

I realized last night that I’m sort of envious of the people who only post their best photos to their Flickr stream for the purpose of showcasing work or soliciting opinions on techniques. Given that my current Flickr account is pretty jam packed of personal photos, I thought I would start a second account for mainly my high-quality photos or photos that I’ve taken time to process and enhance.

If you’re interested in following along, the new account is here. Feel free to add me as a contact and I’ll add you back. I’m going to challenge myself to try and do a setup shot each week to try and improve some of my techniques. Also, it may help with the occasional boredom that occurs from time to time.

I’ve considered doing this. But I think I need to get back to shooting more first 🙂

I too have considered this…wondering how you are setup? I find Yahoo’s account bullshit a pain in the ass…there doesn’t appear to be a simple way to have two separate accounts unless I create two separate Yahoo accounts, then the separate Flickr accounts. Short of using two different browsers/accounts…it seems double complicated to do a simple task.

Yah, that’s what I did, and it’s a pain in the ass. Although, now that it’s set up I just have both accounts in Flickr uploader and I can mostly forget about it.

This really points out an opportunity for Flickr to improve on their service. I also feel the same way… my stream is often packed with Blackberry-uploaded photos and more personal photos and not necessarily the parts I consider my “photography”… I think Flickr should maybe offer tabs on someone’s stream where people can categorize their streams into personal and photography or personal and professional. I realize that folders KIND OF do this now, but it’s not really sufficient, especially if you want folders within folders.

I love your photography, regardless of whether other people think it’s the highest quality, etc. But I can totally see what you’re saying. I’d just keep the normal account you have and then add a set “My Best Photos’
