Happy Birthday Keira-Anne and Arieanna

 Journal

I meant to post this earlier, but I’ve just been slammed these last few days. Today is a special day, as it’s the birthday of two of my good friends. The first is Arieanna, who I’ve been lucky enough to get to know a lot better over the course of this last year. The first time I really hung out with her was at the 2008 Canadian Juno Awards in Calgary, where her and I crashed a VIP party and proceeded to drink our weight in beer. Good times. The second birthday is of course Keira-anne‘s. One of the first times I ever hung out with Keira was on a little dog walk out in Stanley Park. Having never met her before, I remember being a little nervous for some reason. Since then, we’ve spent a lot of time hanging out, hitting the beach, and of course, eating nachos and […]

Entry #31: It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Summer

 Journal

The following is guest post by my good friend, Keira Mellis, who happens to have a really amazing blog herself over at Keira-Anne.com. Also, we’ve received another donation, one that’s eligible for my free photo giveaway. Here’s a list of recent donations. Michelle Palazzo YOU – if you click here and pledge Also, to sweeten the deal, any person who donates $50 or more to the Union Gospel Mission will receive a free 8×12 photo of their choosing from my HDR gallery located at SmugMug. Since it’s rather apparent that our blogalicious friend, Duane, has such a deep love for the spirit of all things Christmas (and in particular the Christmas tree), I thought I’d share a few fun facts about Christmas trees I managed to dig up online. Notice That My Christmas Tree Is Still Up In The Background Most parts of pine, spruce and fir trees can be […]

Lunch And Shopping

 Journal

I met my friend Keira-Anne for a quick lunch down at Pacific Center a while ago, and then hit the mall hard on a quest to buy some clothes. I rarely shop for clothes, not because I don’t like buying clothes, but because I’m really picky and always end up leaving frustrated. Since I only had 45 minutes, I decided to be less picky and just go with the flow. I ended up buying two pairs of nice jeans, and a few cool shirts for the weekend. Pretty much everything I bought was on sale, but it still ended up being around $400 after tax. Not bad for 45 minutes of work. I have so much to do tonight it’s not even funny. I have to charge all my camera gear, finish getting my blog ready, do some laundry, go grab some podcasting equipment from John Bollwitt, call my friends […]

Thursday, Apple Air, Sore Throat, Muffin of Death

 Journal

I woke up to my phone ringing basically non-stop thanks to Hesty and Sean at work. There’s a big career fair out at UBC today, and I guess they are all going and wanted me to go too. I woke up with a nasty sore throat though, so I’m going to leave the recruiting to those guys. I’m going to pass around a bit of link-juice this morning. First, we have Rebecca and Keira, who are packing up and heading to the island for some licking and snowboarding. That means John is currently wifeless, so I think him and I are going to figure out something fun to do this weekend. Judging by the weather, I’m guessing we’ll be watching movies and nerding out on the laptops for some of it. If anyone is around and into nerd sessions, drop me a nerdmail. I’m pretty sure whatever we end up […]
