Visiting The Cliffs Of Moher

One of the most impressive geological formations in the world are the Cliffs of Moher located in County Claire, Ireland. Located approximately an hour drive away from Galway, it’s an easily accessible location in the beautiful Burren region of Ireland, which has an eerie resemblance to a moonscape. I visited the Cliffs once in 2011, but unfortunately it was foggy and didn’t make for very nice photos. Thankfully I got a chance to go back again yesterday and got to see the Cliffs of Moher with much better sunshine this time. If you’re going to visit the Cliffs of Moher, […]

Private Tour Of B&H Photo In New York City

PhotographyUnited States

I’ve been blogging a fair deal about my upcoming trip to New York City, and how one of the highlights for me is undoubtedly going to be visiting B&H Photo in New York City. B&H is an extremely well known photography store, and it’s been on my list of places to visit for many years now. Thanks to the power of the Internet, Hershel Waldner, Supervisor of the Online Marketing Department for B&H Photo, contacted me and asked if I’d like a private tour of the facilities while I’m there. Obviously, I said yes! So, I’ll be visiting B&H Photo […]

Quick Day Trip To Montevideo, Uruguay

About a week ago, Gus, Russ and I were talking about how we would all like to visit Uruguay at some point on our adventure. There are two options that most people consider: a trip to Colonia, or a trip to Montevideo. Due to time constraints, most people end up taking the trip to Colonia, since it’s not very far from Buenos Aires. Getting to Montevideo takes more time, and is generally more expensive, so most people choose not to do it. Since it is the capital of Uruguay, we decided that it was the place that we wanted to […]

Vacation Plans

Lately I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to do in terms of a vacation this year. Looking back over last year, I realized that I really only took one week of vacation (to the Dominican Republic), which probably explains why I’m a bit worn out lately. I talked to our accountant at work, and he said I have more than two weeks of vacation accrued already. So, I talked it over with my boss, and I think I’m going to take two weeks off in June. Truthfully, I can’t remember the last time I’ve taken more than one week […]

Web 2.0

It’s fairly strange that nowadays, no matter the event, you can basically find some photos or video from it shortly afterwards. That being said, it’s sort of cool watching Matt’s tour remotely via Youtube and Flickr. Here’s a shot of Matt playing in San Francisco the other night. Next stop on the tour is San Diego tomorrow, and then South By Southwest in Austin, Texas. Matt’s currently working his way east across the US: you can see where he’ll be next by checking out his shows page.

The Tour Begins

This Friday, Matthew Good will be hitting Seattle for the first show of his US tour. In just a little over two weeks, Matt will bounce across most of the continental United States, hitting such places San Francisco, Austin (for South by Southwest), Boston and New York City. Matthew Good @ Massey Hall, photo by Phil I had tickets to go see Matt play at the second show of his last Canadian tour, but ended up connected to a bunch of tubes at St. Paul’s Hospital instead (thankfully I managed to make it out to Toronto for a show instead). […]

Hospital Music Now Available

Matthew Good’s 7th album, Hospital Music, is now available in Canada, the US and the UK. You can head over to the official Hospital Music page which has all the links you could possibly want to use to purchase the album or take a listen. Matt’s currently making his way across Canada on a press tour, and will be starting the official album tour in September. For more information on some of his upcoming shows, check out the shows page over at Matt’s site. I’ve been lucky enough to see bits and pieces of this whole process with Matt and […]

So long Jari and Seppo

On Friday night a bunch of us from work took Jari and Seppo out for one last night on the town in Vancouver. Since we basically accomplished everything we set out to do this week, we started drinking at around 4pm Friday afternoon at work. From there, we made our way to the Yaletown Brew Pub for dinner and some more drinks. I wasn’t really sure what these guys would like to see (apparently at the end of the night it turns out they kind of wanted to see a strip club, affectionately called “The Titty Bar” in Finnish), so […]
